For the people who make
From first swatch to finished piece.
Whether you sew at home, design a label or source material for a business, begin with the end use. A fabric earns its place through the way it feels, cuts, wears and holds up in your own tests.
01
Clothing & collections
Test a fabric for shirts, dresses, co-ords, relaxed tailoring and capsule collections. Compare drape, opacity and finish before cutting.
02
Samples & prototypes
Buy a metre or a short length to test pattern pieces, trims, stitching and wash behaviour before committing to more.
03
Accessories & objects
Explore heavier weaves for bags, pouches, covers and packaging concepts; check weight and structure against your intended use.
04
Interiors & home
Sample textures for cushions, table linens, soft furnishings and other home concepts. Check rub, care and finish needs for each project.
A better way to choose
Start with the blend. Then find your finish.
Every hemp textile feels different. Fibre mix, yarn, weave, dye and finishing all change the result, so sample for the exact application you have in mind.
Pure hemp
For an expressive natural surface and a broad choice of textures. Our pure-hemp ranges run from lighter Cansa and Penek to the more substantial Cannabus.

Why consider hemp?
Good material. Better questions.
Hemp fabric appeals to makers who care about texture, performance and material choice. The right choice is still project specific: feel the cloth, check its specifications and make a sample.
Character you can see and feel
Hemp can give cloth a distinct surface, from subtle natural slub to visible woven texture. The final hand feel depends on blend and finishing.
Breathable, moisture-absorbing fibre
Plant-based hemp fibre can absorb moisture and can be used in breathable textiles. Weave, weight and any finish determine comfort in the finished garment.
Strength for considered use
Hemp is known as a strong bast fibre. For a durable finished product, assess the fabric construction, seams, care and intended wear as a whole.
A material with sustainability potential
Hemp may be grown with comparatively low inputs, but environmental impact is not fixed by fibre name alone. Cultivation, processing, dyeing, transport and lifespan matter.
A practical path to purchase
Get the fabric you need, in the length you need.
You can buy participating fabrics by the metre directly from the catalogue. We are especially well suited to prototypes and small to medium quantities. For project sourcing or delivery outside India, contact us to discuss availability and logistics.
01 / Choose your cloth
Compare composition, weight, weave and colour. If a particular width or finish matters, confirm it before ordering.
02 / Start with metres
Select a 1 m, 2 m or 3 m variation where offered. These short lengths make sampling and small to medium projects approachable.
03 / Make your plan
For larger quantities, garment plans or an international order, tell us the fabric, destination, required quantity and timeline.
The material guide
A closer look at hemp fabric.
Hemp textile fibre comes from the stem of the hemp plant. After harvesting, fibre is separated and prepared for spinning, weaving or knitting. The result is not one uniform fabric: a pure-hemp herringbone and a hemp–cotton lightweight weave can behave very differently. That is why fibre composition is only the beginning of a useful fabric specification.
What changes the feel of a hemp textile?
The blend changes the balance of texture and hand feel; yarn and weave change the surface and structure; fabric weight affects drape and opacity; finishing can soften, wash or colour the cloth. We stock pure hemp, hemp–cotton and hemp–linen–lyocell options so you can compare these choices against a real design brief. Ask about usable width, shrinkage and care guidance for a specific fabric before production.
How to read GSM and choose a fabric
GSM means grams per square metre. It is a useful weight guide, not a complete measure of quality or suitability. A lighter listed range around 130–145 GSM may suit a shirt or soft layer, while a more substantial 185–195 GSM Cannabus option may be worth testing for a structured piece. The weave and finish can still make two fabrics of similar weight feel different. If possible, order a sample length and test your own cut, stitch and wash.
Is hemp fabric sustainable?
Hemp has promising agricultural traits, but no fibre is automatically sustainable in every product. Growing conditions, water and energy use, chemical processing, dyeing, transport, garment construction and longevity all affect the outcome. Textile Exchange notes that more comparable impact data is needed for hemp. For a responsible material decision, ask for the processing and certification details that matter to your project, and design for long use and appropriate care.

Questions makers ask
Fabric, metres and making.
Can I buy hemp fabric by the metre?
Yes. Selected product listings offer 1 m, 2 m and 3 m length variations. Availability depends on the chosen fabric and colour. The catalogue shows current options and prices.
Do you have fabric for small clothing labels and prototypes?
Yes. Per-metre buying is a practical starting point for testing a new pattern, developing a sample or sourcing a small to medium quantity. Contact us with your specification if you need help comparing options.
What hemp fabric blends are available?
The collection includes 100% hemp, hemp–cotton at several ratios, and hemp–linen–lyocell blends. The live range cards above show the mixes currently represented by in-stock products.
Which hemp fabric is best for clothing?
It depends on the garment. Compare weight, weave, drape, opacity and hand feel. Lighter ranges can be a starting point for shirts and soft pieces; substantial weaves may better suit structured designs. Make a sample before production.
Can I order from outside India?
If you are based outside India, send us your destination, fabric, quantity and timeline. We can discuss availability and delivery options for your project.
Is hemp fabric the same as hemp canvas?
No. Hemp is the fibre; canvas describes a heavier fabric construction. Our range includes different weights and weaves, from lighter cloth to more substantial twill and herringbone options.
