What is Stress?

Stress is a natural response of the body to a perceived threat or demand. It is a physiological and psychological reaction that occurs when we face challenges, pressures, or changes in our environment. Stress can be triggered by various factors, such as work-related demands, relationship issues, financial difficulties, or major life events.
When faced with a stressful situation, the body releases stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which initiate a series of physiological changes known as the “fight-or-flight” response. This response prepares the body to either confront the stressor or escape from it. It can result in increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, rapid breathing, and heightened alertness.
