The India Hemp Expo 2024 in Bengaluru unveiled a ₹10,000 crore industry roadmap, signaling hemp’s transition from niche crop to mainstream opportunity. The event highlighted hemp’s potential across food, textiles, wellness, and sustainable construction, while experts stressed its role in boosting rural employment, driving eco-friendly innovation, and positioning India as a global leader in the fast-growing hemp economy.
The India Hemp Expo 2024 in Bengaluru marked a turning point for India’s hemp sector. Supported by the Ministry of MSME, the event gathered entrepreneurs, policymakers, Ayurveda practitioners, and global investors under one roof.
At the expo, industry leaders launched a ₹10,000 crore blueprint to drive growth in India’s hemp economy, estimated at $11.03 billion in 2024 and projected to triple by 2029.
Exhibitors showcased hemp across diverse sectors — CBD oils and wellness supplements, hempcrete for eco-friendly construction, sustainable fashion textiles, protein powders, and plant-based foods. Experts highlighted how India could position itself as a global competitor in hemp innovation, aligning with sustainability and green economy goals.
Industry observers noted that India Hemp Expo 2024 didn’t just promote hemp — it legitimized it as a mainstream pillar of India’s economic future.
