A collaborative medical venture by Poonthottam Ayurvedasram and BOHECO

If you ever plan to stay at Poonthottam Ayurvedasram in Kerala, be prepared for a unique cannabis experience for the first time in India and Asia! 

Poonthottam is an Ayurveda ashram situated in the Kulakkad hill region in Kerala. The place has recently gained popularity due to the ashram’s incorporation of cannabis wellness programmes. The ashram has now become Asia’s first cannabis wellness retreat.
Poonthottam employs the ancient and natural system of medicine that originated in India around 3000 years ago and gives importance to plants to treat different types of ailments.  BOHECO, a Cannabis health & wellness brand has recently collaborated with the ashram to bring together Ayurveda and cannabis under one retreat facility.

The retreat at Poonthottam Ayurvedasram, in collaboration with the Bombay Hemp Company (BOHECO), provides a unique and exceptional experience. This retreat is owned and managed by Ayurvedacharya Vaidya P.M.S. Raveendranath and his wife Latha Raveendranath. This program provides users with the healing advantages of Ayurvedic therapies, combined with BOHECO’s proprietary cannabis and hemp-derived products.

During your visit, you can look forward to indulging in cannabis-infused Ayurvedic treatments and cuisine. The ashram offers guided yoga and mindfulness sessions, as well as tantric psychology and cannabis counselling sessions.

The property is set amidst picturesque paddy fields, rubber plantations, and coconut groves.

What is AyurCann?

AyurCann is founded on the principles of Ayurveda to include the curative potency of cannabis leaf extracts. A number of Ayurvedic treatments offered here, use premium blends of cannabis oils and serums. All the treatment plans and techniques used are prescribed and carefully crafted by the Ayurvedic doctors. The Programmes at AyurCann are designed to address all six dimensions of health: physical, intellectual, emotional, environmental, social, and spiritual. 

AyurCann combines traditional Ayurvedic therapies like Abhyangam, Patra Pinda Sveda, Taila, Dhaara, etc. along with Yoga therapies. Ayurcann offers services including diagnosis, treatment, and mindfulness exercises to understand the distinctive psyche of each participant. Medicinal Cannabis and Himalayan Hemp Nutrition, along with the treatment methods will inculcate natural and holistic healing.

A few cannabis-based programs are focused on Pain Management Program, Mukta, a Stress Management Program and finally, Nidra, which is a Sleep Wellness Program, these programs are called Avatha. They are an integral part of the facility’s programs. These programs are either for 14 or 21 days, encompassing various Ayurvedic treatments and other sessions.

The retreat also serves cannabis-infused food which is approved by Ayurvedic experts at the resort. The food here is prepared using hemp seeds, oil and powder, such as salad dressing, in vegetable stir-fries, and while steaming idlis. In addition to this, there are hemp toiletries too.
